The Super Mom 5K/10K was hosted by 5 Star Race Services on Saturday, May 7th in downtown Buford, GA. Buford is North of Atlanta, about 40 minutes, and is a quaint little town.
The 5K and 10K runners started together. The course was flat for miles 1 and 3 while mile 2 had rolling hills. The weather was perfect; 60’s with clear skies. Packet pick-up went seamlessly (see below) and the race started on time.
Post race refreshments were plentiful. We had Suja cold pressed juices which are my favorite. They average $7.00 a bottle. They also had the usually 5K/10K food – bananas, oranges and cookies.
The really cool post race perk was the large flat screen TV displaying the results.
Overall – very nice race and would definitely recommend it for next year.
On a side note… I had interesting brief conversation based on my t-shirt from the Paris Marathon. The ladies I chatted with were just discussing runners that travel the 50 states as a goal and the others that run internationally and then I pop up – go figure. they said running 42,195KM is much more impressive than running 26.2 miles – hehehe :-). I then recommended the Rome Marathon. Rome was one of my favorites.0
