Yoga – Mi Amor


My distance running has really deteriorated.  Running 2-4 miles maybe three times a week is not bad but anything more than that does not interest me.  I ran my last Half Marathon in New Mexico on April 8th.  I was able run all of 6 miles and that was with stop breaks.  My heart just isn’t with running right now so running has become a chore.  I was in need of something different and challenging.

Prior to running my last half I purchased a Groupon for 2 weeks of Bikram style hot yoga.  March 5th was my first 90 minute class at John’s Creek Hot Yoga.  I could barely breathe in the heat and had to take several breaks.  I felt so defeated but was determined to get better a it.  I continued going and by the 3rd class, I felt much better.  My flexibility noticeably increased. There were still poses I could not perform but overall, I was doing great

After that Groupon ran out, I signed up with Red Hot Yoga.  They offer Bikram and Vinyasa hot yoga.  I actually prefer Vinyasa Flow because it embraces strength and cardio within its poses.  I have been with Red Hot Yoga since March 20th and attend at least 4 times a week.

The pictures below are from a Wellness Retreat in Samara, Costa Rica.  We decided to go for a hike on our last full day.  I was myself and 4 other girlfriends.  We had a 4 day weekend with juicing and 3 hours of exercise daily.  Samara is closer to Liberia airport but still a 2 hour drive away.
